Business Development Manager

(Franklin, TN)

 


Your Day-to-Day Impact
  • Perfect your ability to foster relationships and become the entrepreneur you’ve always wanted to be.
  • Develop, execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize profitable sales and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Manage an active sales program, developing and revising steps of the sales process from prospect to close.
  • Provide a solution-based sales approach to drive new business across multiple lines of business; dry van, flatbed, refrigerated, LTL and expedited LTL.
  • Proactively seek and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and rate agreements, including Request for Information and Request for Proposal.
  • Manage your active accounts, ensuring accounts receivable and contract terms are being followed.
  • Analyze opportunities/projects/industry patterns to identify new clients and develop tailor made solutions for each.
  • Provide consistent reporting and analysis; account trending, sales reports/analysis, CRM reports, expense reports, etc.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure cross functional support towards revenue goals.
  • Other job-related duties as required
Essentials For Your Success
  • Strong business knowledge of the North American transportation market and customers
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for sales, persistence, and a drive to succeed
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Competitive nature with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel is required
  • 3 years or more of sales experience in the industry
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
