For 13th year, Jetco renews U.S. EPA Smartway® Transport Partnership

By Katharine Mohn

Today Jetco announced approval of our annual registration in the SmartWay® Transport Partnership. SmartWay, a public-private partnership between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight industry, is a market-driven initiative that empowers businesses and fleets to drive supply chain efficiency and resiliency, while protecting public health, reducing air pollution, and restoring American energy dominance.

A participant since 2012, Jetco will continue to contribute to the Partnership’s growing savings of 397 million barrels of oil and 170 million metric tons of CO2. This is the equivalent of the annual electricity use in 26 million homes. By renewing its registration in the SmartWay Transport Partnership, Jetco demonstrates its strong environmental leadership and corporate responsibility.

Our continued participation in the SmartWay Transport Partnership aligns with our clients' and our ongoing sustainability initiatives, said Jetco President Kyle Kristynik, "and reflects our commitment to supporting and recognizing the impact we have on our local and regional communities."

Developed jointly by EPA and Charter Partners represented by industry leaders, environmental groups, American Trucking Associations, and Business for Social Responsibility, this innovative program celebrated its 20-year anniversary in 2024. Partners rely upon SmartWay tools and approaches to track and reduce emissions and fuel use from goods movement. The Partnership currently has over 4,000 Partners including multinational shippers (manufacturers and retailers), logistics companies, truck, rail, barge, and multimodal freight carriers.
