Joins Harris County Judge Ed Emmett to add private sector support to federal transportation initiative

HOUSTON, June 21, 2016 – Brian Fielkow, CEO of Houston-based Jetco Delivery, was announced today as Co-Chairman of the Greater Houston Freight Committee (GHFC). The new initiative, formed by the Houston-Galveston Area Council, has been established to assure the full incorporation of freight into the public transportation planning process.

Fielkow is joined by Co-Chairman Harris County Judge Ed Emmett to lead the GHFC and fulfill the needs of the Transportation Policy Council. In his role, Fielkow will provide expertise from the private sector’s perspective to help identify and understand the freight needs of the region.

“It’s an honor to have been selected by Judge Ed Emmett and the by the Houston-Galveston Area Council as the industry’s representative on this important committee,” said Fielkow. “This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the private sector is represented in the process that guides regional transportation investment.”

Fielkow previously served as chairman of the Texas Trucking Association Intermodal Committee, engaging with many critical transportation related issues, and  is the author of Driving to Perfection: Achieving Business Excellence by Creating a Vibrant Culture as well as the forthcoming Leading People Safely: How to Win on the Business Battlefield, which he co-authored with well known rail and transportation safety practitioner Jim Schultz.
