Jetco launches specialized cargo division

By Katharine Mohn

On the heels of a successful exhibition at BreakBulk Americas last month, Jetco today announced the launch of its specialized cargo division. This division is not new to Jetco but instead the result of a multi-year investment in people, equipment, and client relationships, grown out of Jetco Heavy Haul LLC, which was started in 2008.

“Three years ago, we started positioning ourselves to capitalize on the accelerated growth of domestic power, manufacturing, and infrastructure, specifically data centers, led by the Super Intelligence industry, in the Gulf Coast,” said Jetco President Kyle Kristynik. “Today we’re pleased to announce officially our specialized cargo division, which brings together our talented team and specialized trailers to meet increased client demand for our half-century of expertise.”

Jetco mixes tenured team members with new faces:

  • Nelva Martin, director of business development – specialized cargo, who joined Jetco three years ago and will focus on strengthening and building client partnerships
  • Maurice Martens, director of specialized cargo, who joined Jetco last month and brings his extensive background in specialized freight, including still holding his CDL, to lead both assets and brokerage for this division
  • Bob Gruber, asset manager – specialized cargo, who has 15+ years of experience at Jetco and will continue to lead Jetco’s complex asset division and manage a growing group of experienced and highly skilled professional drivers
  • Cesar Moreno, logistics manager – specialized cargo, who joined Jetco almost five years ago and will lead brokerage and quoting for this division, in addition to serving as mentor for Jetco’s “boots on the ground” project managers
  • Baileigh Brooke, specialized cargo coordinator, who joined us last month alongside Martens and will coordinate permits, escorts, and billing, while learning the intricacies of quoting
  • Wesley Bennett Tay, Christopher Tubbs, and Roberto Triolo, specialized cargo project managers, will be on-site to ensure each project’s safe, seamless, and successful execution

Together, this team will use Jetco’s expanded pool of trucks and trailers with carefully prequalified, third-party carriers to safely and successfully manage the complex transport of oversize, overweight, and over-dimensional cargo. In addition to new day and sleeper cabs, this year Jetco added two Faymonville 3+3 multimax trailers, capable of hauling 125,000 lbs.; a Goldhofer STZ-P 9 trailer, capable of hauling 180,000 lbs.; and a Fontaine Magnitude 55MX 3-axle hydraulic RGN with nitro stinger 3+1, loading 55-ton in a 16’ footprint. It added these four new trailers to a line-up that includes: flatbeds, stretch flatbeds, 3-axle stretch flatbeds, step decks, low profile step decks, low profile stretch step decks, 3-axle mechanical double-drop stretch RGNs, 3-axle hydraulic double-drop stretch RGNs, 4-axle hydraulic RGNs, an HT534 5-axle 50-ton oil field trailer, and an HT500SDE multiaxle low pro extendable 65-ton trailer with Jeep and booster.

Jetco will also lean on and collaborate with its sister companies, Burford, ON, Canada-based Precision Specialized, and Sutton W, ON, Canada-based Scott Woods Transport, to meet client demand for specialized, heavy haul, and out-of-gauge moves.
