Houston-Galveston Area Council Hosts Panel Discussion on Transportation Safety 

Industry leaders to address leadership, driver, technology and law enforcement perspectives 

 

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Freight Advisory Committee, co-chaired by Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy Fellow in Energy and Transportation Policy Ed Emmett and Jetco CEO / The GTI Group Executive Vice President Brian Fielkow, will host a virtual panel discussion entitled, “The State of Transportation Safety in Our Region” on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, from 1-3:30 p.m. CST. Led by Fielkow, the panel will include industry leaders from government, business and academia: 

 

  • DeAnn Crane, Program Manager at National Safety Council/Our Driving Concern 
  • Jeffrey A. Tippit, Police Officer at LaPorte Police Department, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit 
  • Jason Young, Account Manager at Houston Freightliner 
  • Cornelius Glaspy, Professional Commercial Vehicle Operator at Jetco Delivery 

 

The panelists will discuss safety leadership, employer resources that can help promote transportation safety, insight on safety in our region from law enforcement’s perspective, use of technology to keep us safer and safety from the perspective of an experienced, professional commercial vehicle operator.
