Jetco Joins Wreaths Across America

By Lisa Sursavage

For the past five years, Jetco has proudly participated in Wreaths Across America. This organization honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 1,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad.

This year, we were honored to participate in Wreaths Across America Day. On this day, our driver, Jorge, delivered wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery, which he and 51 other professional drivers, from across the country had picked up in Maine.

“This has been an amazing journey,” said Jorge. “I am honored to participate and to have met so many other drivers along the way. It’s been an amazing experience.”

Jorge was met by our safety director, Jeff, and our compliance coordinator, Jenny. After arriving at the cemetery, thousands of volunteers joined Jorge, Jeff and Jenny to help unload the 3,000 wreaths in Jetco’s trailer and place them on veterans’ final resting place.

“I was so proud to see our Jetco truck pull into the cemetery. It’s a moment I’ll never forget,” said Jenny.

More than 100,000 people showed up to watch the trucks drive into the cemetery. After, drivers from across the country continued to deliver wreaths to local cemeteries and honor American heroes.

“As a Marine, this event was particularly important and meaningful to me,” said Jeff. “I was so proud to participate and work with so many others to pay our respects.”
