PRECISION SPECIALIZED INC. RECEIVES HAULING JOB OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM INDUSTRY GROUP

Winner in the Trucking Less Than 160,000 lbs. net Category

BURFORD, ON – Precision Specialized Inc. received the 2023 Hauling Job of the Year Award in Trucking from the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association during its Annual Conference in Carlsbad, CA. SC&RA is an international organization comprised of more than 1,350 members from 46 nations.

The SC&RA Hauling Job of the Year Award recognizes members who successfully meet professional challenges encountered in hauling. Judges consider shipment routing, planning, physical elements, safety considerations and execution. Precision Specialized won in the trucking less than 160,000 lbs. net category.

SC&RA recognized Precision Specialized for its Burlington E-house move, which required extensive shipping and delivery location site improvements, route planning and night travel. Dimensions of the e-house were 72’x21’6”x20’, equaling 140,000 lbs., and the loaded dimensions were 109’x21’6”x23’7”, totaling 247,000 lbs. The e-house could only be moved at night, taking two nights to travel 50 km or 31 miles, with 81 support vehicles. In total, Precision Specialized spent 3,519 manhours planning every detail, down to the minute, of this move. Precision Specialized had no infractions, penalties or recordable violations, and the load was in the complete care, custody and control of Precision Specialized.

“It was one of the craziest places we have ever had to come out of with a load of this size. The common question was, ‘Why would they build this here?’,” said Precision Specialized President Ed Bernard. “This one brought extreme challenges which made the successful execution of the move that much more rewarding.”

Firms across the United States and around the world submit dozens of entries to the SC&RA Awards competition each year. The Awards program recognizes worldwide excellence in the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industry.

Precision Specialized would like to thank Omega Morgan, Alectra, Bell, Burlington Hydro, Cable Control Systems, City of Hamilton, City of Ontario, Cogeco, Guild Electric Limited, Halton Region, Halton Regional Police, Hamilton Police, HydroOne, Rogers and Secure Specialized.
